The style of the tiger and panther in my design strongly references Hàng Trống painting, a style of Vietnamese folk woodcut painting from the 17th century. The design also uses the motif of a tiger and a black panther popularized by the recent revival of the motto "Yellow Peril Supports Black Power" by many other artists, representing Asian solidarity with Black people and activists. I am not taking credit as the originator of this motif or style; I am proud to use traditional Vietnamese representations in my art and my intent is to pull from my heritage to create a meaningful product for fundraising. That being said, any other questions or conflicts may be directed to my direct messages on IG, @evaliebovitz.
